I created Talian 05 way before I started testing autoblog plugins, I’ve got around 100 domains with at least 70 WordPress sites running Talian 05 and of those around a dozen are autoblog test sites (only been testing for a few months).

Now a lot of autoblog plugin users are using Talian 05 I’m adding features to take it into account like template pages for a multisite sub-domain sitemap and in version 6 the ability to hide your Amazon affiliate links etc.. automatically. This will not take away from using the theme for any WordPress site, actually it adds to it as new features can be used on all sorts of sites.

In the next version I’ve incorporated the new custom menu system of WordPress and added an expanding menu for the top navigation links, this is perfect for static sites. When I install it here just before the release you’ll be able to hover over the WordPress SEO Tutorial link on the navigation menu and the other tutorial page links will scroll down below it. This is perfect for the more static CMS type site (rather than blogging per se), you can add a set of static pages that can be accessed from the navigation menu.

Regarding plugins almost all the plugins I use are listed above. About the only ones I’ve missed that I use on a fair number of sites are the TweetMeme plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tweetmeme/ and a Tweet old posts plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tweet-old-post/ (they are good for automating Twitter posts).

Also have another custom plugin I’m using to recycle old posts (randomly grabs a post and reposts it with the current date), which when I get the time will probably add it to this page for download: really good for thin affiliate sites where you don’t intend to add more content or sites where you don’t post a lot on. For example use it on my wife’s Images and Pictures Photography Blog since an image based post has no date requirements.

BTW I don’t recommend using the All In One SEO Pack Plugin, see my WordPress All in One SEO Plugin Review. In the next version of my theme I’ve incorporated some support for that and similar SEO plugins (ability to disable the Talian automated meta tags, which isn’t a major feature, meta tags are practically worthless SEO wise now), but to be honest everything useful in that SEO plugin is already dealt with in the Talian themes code. Those plugins are dangerous in the wrong hands as they add nofollow links to categories (that’s just dumb SEO).
